24 Mllion Would Lose Coverage Under GOP’s Obamacare Repeal Plan, Article by Harris Meyer & Virgil Dickson, Modern Healthcare

According to recent non-partisan Congressional Budget Office estimates, a staggering 24 million Americans would lose healthcare coverage if the House Republicans’ American Healthcare Act is passed.  While the bill would “reduce the federal deficit by $337 billion” over the next ten years – mainly due to cuts in Medicaid benefits – it would drive up premiums, causing more acute harm to older, poorer Americans, and it would place unsustainable economic burdens on the states to care for the nation’s un- and under-insured.

Rather than pursue a “repeal and replace” approach to healthcare reform, The Margolin Group continues to advocate for a more measured “retain and repair” method for reducing healthcare costs and improving care and coverage for all.
