Gitenstein Institute for Health Law and Policy Awarded Grant to Expand Veteran Law Clinic

The Margolin Group (TMG) would like to congratulate the Gitenstein Institute for Health Law and Policy at Hofstra Law School for its recent award of $500,000 from the Robert W. Entenmann family to expand its Veteran Law Clinic.

The Veteran Law Clinic, designed and launched with strategic and tactical program management support from TMG, provides legal assistance to Veterans in the New York metropolitan area by connecting them to vital medical, social service and mental health resources.

Specifically, the Entenmann family’s generous support will help Hofstra Law students partner with medical students to develop “nexus letters,” documents that effectively connect clients’ medical conditions to their military service. These “nexus letters” help assure area Veterans receive the benefits to which they are entitled.

TMG’s President and CEO, Leslie Margolin, and Senior Counsel, Anthony Serrano, Co-Chair and Senior Fellow of the Institute provided strategic guidance, partnership development and program design expertise to assure a successful launch of the Clinic. TMG believes programs that unite law, medicine and social services will provide Veterans with a better health care experience, (and intimately, better quality of life) by eliminating (or at least reducing) stress, hassle and bureaucracy.
