The Margolin Group Supports Launch of New York Veterans Law Clinic

The Margolin Group (TMG) extends warm congratulations to the Gitenstein Institute for Health Law and Policy (Institute) on the recent launch of its Veterans Law Clinic. This clinic will leverage the skills and expertise of local attorneys and Hofstra Law students to assure veterans transition smoothly from military to civilian life.

The Veterans Law Clinic represents a key component of the Gitenstein Institute’s multi-disciplinary “Mission Critical” veterans outreach and advocacy program, designed to deliver coordinated and accessible educational, clinical, legal and social resources to local veterans. To advance this work, the Institute, with support from The Margolin Group, formed a partnership with Starbucks – the first of its kind in New York – to provide secure, client-confidential space near Hofstra Law School’s campus for meetings between legal counsel, law students and veterans seeking military benefits.

TMG’s President and CEO, Leslie Margolin, and Senior Counsel, Anthony Serrano, Co-Chair and Senior Fellow of the Institute, respectively, provided strategic guidance, partnership development and program design expertise to assure a successful launch of Mission Critical. TMG believes programs that unite community organizations, in full partnership, to demystify the veteran transition process can help these former soldiers lead more fulfilling, productive and healthy lives post-discharge.
